CAD Model

Go to My Account > Downloads to see the link(s) to the CAD model(s) you have purchased.

No, you do not need Siemens NX unless you want to use the .prt file.  Your purchased CAD model comes with a zipped file that includes nine different formats.

  • 3ds format*      file for Autodesk 3ds Max use
  • dwg format*     file for Autodesk AutoCAD use
  • prt format         NX Part file for Siemens NX CAD use
  • igs format          IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification) format that can be imported to most of the CAD software available today
  • model format*  CATIA V4 part file for CATIA use
  • sat format       3D ACIS in Standard ACIS Text (ASCII text)
  • stl format           STL (STereoLithography) format that can be imported to most of the CAD software available today
  • stp format         STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product) format that can be imported to most of the CAD software available today
  • x_t format          Parasolid format that can be imported to most of the CAD software available today
* Formats currently only available for airplane CAD.   Same formats will be available to Weapons and Miscellaneous CAD soon.
Yes, you can but you will need to scale down the model since the model reflects its actual full-size dimension.
